Cate Blanchett certainly knows how to mix things up on the fashion stakes, and she’s not afraid to try something different.
The 48-year-old Australian actress appeared at the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok in Los Angeles on Tuesday night wearing another unusual piece – a high necked piece in golden glittery fabric with long wide sleeves and a tied-in waist by Gucci.
Blanchett, known for movies like The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Blue Jasmine, plays female villian Hela in the Thor movie which also also stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins. It is scheduled for official release on November 3.
Chris Hemsworth said he was initially scared to work with the actress.
“I was so scared to work with Cate Blanchett, I didn’t want to be let down by the God-like image I have of her and she lived up to it,” Chris Hemsworth said, reported the Gold Coast Bulletin.
Blanchett has certainly been a hero of quirky fashion too. At the London Film Festival she wore a ruffled cream blouse that stood to attention (and captured plenty of attention).
During Paris Fashion Week she also stepped out in some bold choices.
The popular actress is currently filming the movie Where’d You Go, Bernadette and is about to start work on voicing children’s film How To Train Your Dragon 3.
