Queen Elizabeth II shines in lovely blue ensemble for races

While her grandson Prince Harry is busy travelling around Australia, The Queen has not slowed down, attending her own royal engagements in the United Kingdom.

Looking as lovely as ever, Queen Elizabeth II was spotted enjoying a day out at Ascot Racecourse on Saturday for the QIPCO British Champions Day.

The 92-year-old was all smiles in a gorgeous light blue coat and matching hat featuring blue and orange feathers.

Wearing a stunning pearl necklace, pearl earrings and a silver broach, The Queen certainly didn’t look her age as she strolled throughout the racecourse and presented awards.

The beautiful royal opted for simple black flats with silver buckles for the busy day, while she chose a gorgeous pink lip to complement her outfit.

Late last week, The Queen stepped out in a gorgeous pink dress to welcome ambassadors from around the globe to Buckingham Palace.

As is often her style, the 92-year-old donned a bright pink shift dress for the formal diplomatic occasion, further brightening up an already cheerful ensemble with a multi-strand pearl necklace. She matched her gorgeous dress with her favourite black shoes and a black patent handbag.

It was the first time the Queen had been back at the official London residence since the early summer. The Queen spent the summer months at Balmoral before returning to Windsor last week with Prince Philip, 97, for the wedding of her granddaughter Princess Eugenie to Jack Brooksbank.

Throughout her 66-year reign, Queen Elizabeth has met some of the world’s most incredible people, from politicians and celebrities to real life heroes. And the 92-year-old monarch greeted another living legend this week as she shook hands with 101-year-old Jack Lyon, the last surviving ‘great escape’ survivor, as she celebrated 100 years of the RAF in Mayfair, London, on Wednesday.

The Queen stopped to speak to former flight lieutenant Lyon, who was one of 600 prisoners of war who helped to dig a 300ft network of tunnels before launching a spectacular escape bid from the Stalag Luft III POW camp, in Sagan, Germany, in March 1944.
