Princess Mary shows off dazzling style in elegant black tasselled dress

She’s got one of the most enviable wardrobes in the Danish royal family and Princess Mary has once again stolen the show in an elegant frock for a solo engagement.

The Crown Princess, 46, swapped her elaborate ball gowns and brightly coloured outfits for a simple back dress with an edgy twist as she presented the Carlsberg Foundation Research Prize 2018.

Showing off her figure, the dress clinched in at the waist before ending below her knees with long tassels covering her calfs. Mary coupled the frock with sky-high black and white stilettos, giving her a stylish business look for the official event.

She posed with bouquets of flowers alongside winners Tim Bollerslev and Poul Nissen, both active researchers awarded the prizes for their recent results in their chosen fields.

Wearing her brunette hair in loose waves around her shoulders, Mary kept her look very natural and added statement silver earrings to dress her outfit up even more.

Proving relaxed and at ease in front of the crowds at the event, she later took to the stage to give a speech congratulating the winners, smiling throughout as she addressed the families and colleagues of both winners.

It comes just days after Mary and her husband Prince Frederik enjoyed a visit from French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen.

Ensuring she dressed for the occasion, Mary opted for not one but two outfits in a single day. First heading to the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum, Mary opted for a stunning royal blue knee-length dress which fitted in slightly at her waist to show off her gorgeous figure.

The princess smiled brightly as she posed for photos outside the museum, with the winged sleeves falling elegantly by her sides and a gold brooch pinned by her shoulder.

Completing the simple yet stunning look, Mary chose to pair the dress with beige heels, a royal blue clutch, gold bangles and earrings.

Following the first of the day’s proceedings, the princess made a quick outfit change to farewell the French president and first lady at a ceremony at the Royal Theatre.

This time the 46-year-old chose a gorgeous long-sleeved red and black patterned dress that fell gracefully below her knees.

Mary kept with her usual hairstyle for the later event, her straight brunette locks framing her face beautifully with red dangly earrings adding another touch of colour.

The princess opted for simple black heels to colour coordinate with her dress and subtle makeup to not overdo the look.
