When it comes to red carpet glamour, actress and TV star Brigitte Nielsen never fails to disappoint – and her latest outfit may be one of her riskiest to date.

The 55-year-old former model showed off her figure in a very plunging floor-length dress at the 49th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards honoring LGBT advocacy in Los Angeles at the weekend.

Risking a wardrobe malfunction in the flimsy, clinging material, the mum-of-five dazzled in front of the cameras in a series of poses, with the silver metallic dress sparkling in the flashing lights.

She added statement silver earrings and a matching clutch bag, ensuring she stole the show from her fellow stars. She was joined at the bash by husband Mattia Dessi and the pair shared a passionate kiss in front of reporters and fans on the red carpet.

Mattia co-ordinated perfectly with his wife in a silver metallic suit jacket and blue bow tie. The pair both wore their shorter cropped hair styled in spikey up dos and flashed huge smiles throughout the event.

Brigitte and Mattia welcomed a little girl, Frida, into the world on June 22 this year – the blonde beauty’s fifth child.

Although thrilled at becoming a mum again, Brigitte confessed in an interview with People magazine recently that the thought of people mistaking her for the grandmother of the beautiful baby does worry her.

“I might not take her to school when the time comes. I’ll let my husband do it, because I don’t want people to say, ‘is that your grandmother taking you to school?’” she told People at the time

While having another child was something the model fought hard for, going through 10 years of in-vitro fertilisation treatment, she knows some might think she is too old. But that hasn’t stopped her urging other women not to give up on their hopes of becoming a mother later in life.

She said: “Some women think, ‘oh my God, I’m too old’. Well, yeah, I can understand people saying, ‘how dare she? But how many men have their first kids in their 60s and 70s and they never doubt it?

“Do I understand that [people] are a bit skeptical? Yes, I understand. I also totally respect the fact that not everybody likes it and agrees with it, but it is my life.”

The actress isn’t the only well-known face to have welcomed another addition into their family later in life, with actor Rowan Atkinson becoming a father again at 62 and Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood welcoming twin baby girls into the world at 68.

In fact, more women are choosing to wait until later in life to fall pregnant with the average age continuing to increase as the years go by. According to a report by the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, the average age of women who gave birth in 2015 was 30.3, compared to 29.7 in 2005.
