Brigitte Macron is in New York and showing off some serious style.
The French first lady and her husband Emmanuel Macron are in town for a series of meetings at the United Nations and have managed to squeeze in a little sightseeing along the way.
On Monday, she visited Ground Zero and took a walk along the Hudson River in sleek pants and heeled boots paired with a white jumper and black coat to rug up against the cold.
While she’s not there on official business, the first lady has been present at a number of UN events throughout the week.
She was snapped sitting in the audience while her husband delivered his speech to the general assembly and chatting to her fellow guests throughout the session.
She later joined the president for a meeting with Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, who at just 20 has spent much of her life campaigning for girls’ rights.
After a small hiccup at the beginning of the presidency, the first lady has taken an active role in politics since her husband took office.
French voters were angered when they learned that the president wanted his wife to take a salary as first lady despite France not having an official role for the position.
The pair later decided she would work to bring awareness to education and social work without the pay cheque.
