Keith Urban spills secrets to successful marriage with Nicole

They’re one of Hollywood’s favourite couples and Keith Urban has spilled on the little things that makes his marriage to Nicole Kidman work.

Speaking at the 2018 SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, the country music star said he always made time to see his wife and family, despite their often busy schedules.

“I just don’t want to be away from her for two weeks or a week,” Eyewitness News reports the star saying at the event. “We try and schedule pretty much everything so that we’re not away from each other for more than a hand full of days.”

The star even said that he happily packs up and moves to the other side of the world if it means he gets to spend even more time with his wife. “Even when she was shooting ‘Lion’ in Australia we just relocated down to Tassie for a few days and wherever else we had to go so we just stay together as a family it’s really important to us.”

It’s not the first time Keith has been open about his love for the Aussie actress. In addition to regularly appearing side-by-side at lavish red carpet events and star-studded award shows, the ‘Tonight I Wanna Cry’ singer regularly updates his social media channels with tributes to Nicole.

Last year, while celebrating their 11th wedding anniversary, the 50-year-old said he still thought of Nicole as his girlfriend. “Happy Anniversary Babygirl. Eleven years and you still feel like my girlfriend!!! – KU” he wrote at the time.

The pair originally got married in Sydney in 2006 and have been going strong ever since. They have spent much of their 11-year marriage in Nashville, America’s home of country music and the ultimate base for Urban’s career as a musician.

Keith had previously admitted to ignoring calls from Nicole before they got together, believing that she was simply out of his league. Nicole once revealed that Keith ignore the phone calls for four months, so much so that she thought he wasn’t interested in her. Thankfully the pair are inseparable now. They have two children together, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. 

Nicole also has two adopted children from her marriage with Tom Cruise.
