Experts find these simple drinks will have you sleeping like a baby

There was as time that people would swear on a “nightcap”. A simple little alcoholic drink that would help you get to sleep quickly. Since then experts have discovered that alcohol can actually hurt your sleep in the long term. It might help you get to sleep but it can cause you to wake up in the middle of the night and make it difficult for you to fall back asleep.

Some drinks can help you fall asleep without harming your entire night’s sleep. Give some of these a try before bed tonight and see how if they help.

Cherry Juice
This one might have to wait until you can get to the shops next, but a glass of cherry juice in the morning and another before bed could bring you an extra hour of shut eye. The science behind this is that the juice is rich in a sleeping hormone, melatonin. Well, worth a try if you are an early riser and no longer want to be.

Banana Smoothie
If you get the desire to snack before bed, a smoothie might fill the void while also delivering some great sleep benefits. Bananas are a great sleep aid as they are high in potassium and magnesium where are natural muscle relaxants. It also has an amino acid that gets converted in the body to serotonin and melatonin which help you sleep.

Honey Milk
Sometimes the oldest ones work. Warm milk has been used for generations to help people sleep, but adding a teaspoon of honey will get you off to longer, and dare we say, sweeter sleep. Combined milk and honey create amino acids that turn into serotonin in the body, while milk also naturally contains tryptophan which also helps you sleep.

Are you going to give one of these a go tonight? If you do, be sure to let us know in the comments below if they helped.
