Catherine Zeta-Jones is done being humble about her enviable life. The 48-year-old movie star announced she’s no longer sorry for being rich, attractive and happily married.
In a very frank interview, the Welsh actress, unapologetically revealed to The Mirror: “I’m sick of being humble. I really am. So sorry I’m rich, so sorry I’m married to a movie star, so sorry I’m not so bad looking.”
“No sorrys. Enough,” she continued. “All that is important to me now is my work.”
The Mask of Zorro actress, who’s married to Michael Douglas, also bragged about her family.
“…[The] rest of my life is a joy because I’ve got two beautiful kids and a healthy, happy husband,” the actress, 48, said. “It’s all good, and I’m not going to be humble for that either.”
Zeta-Jones opened up about her upbringing as the daughter of a seamstress and factory worker, crediting her upbringing for her success. “I come from a working-class family in Wales and I worked to get to where I am,” she said. “And for many years all of us are victims of the fact that we’ve all got so humble.”
The Oscar-winner’s attitude shouldn’t come as a surprise, as she joked in 2003, “A million dollars isn’t a lot of money for people like us”.
And she’s also boasted of collecting houses. “Some people collect art or lots of money,” she said in 2009. “We collect houses because if we have to look at something, we prefer the view.”
