Many high-profile events have fallen by the wayside this year, including the prestigious horse racing event Royal Ascot. But Mike and Zara Tindall didn’t let that stop them celebrating the annual sporting occasion, as the couple celebrated the day at home in lockdown.

Zara, who is the only daughter of Princess Anne, looked sensational in an all-blue ensemble as she posed alongside her husband in the grounds of their home on the sprawling Gatcombe estate, where the Princess Royal also resides. The Queen’s granddaughter paired the stylish drop-hem dress in a vibrant shade of cobalt blue, with an elegant fascinator and a pair of navy blue suede stilettos.

While Mike looked extremely dapper in a grey three-piece suit with tails, which he paired with a pale blue shirt, bright blue tie and a top hat.

“When it’s day 1 of Royal Ascot and you have nothing else on!!!” the former England rugby ace wrote on Instagram on Tuesday.

The couple’s followers were delighted to see them looking so stylish, with one person writing: “And you would totally take our fashions on the field with this get up. Well done.”

Another commented: “You both look great!” While another said: “Beautiful outfits! Gorgeous couple! Amazing day!”

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s the first time the couple have been seen dressed up together since March when they attended the Cheltenham Festival. The gorgeous couple beamed and stood with their arms wrapped around each other as they posed for photos ahead of the event.

The Queen’s granddaughter rugged up in a beautiful berry-coloured coat by British designer Claire Mischevani. The mum-of-two accessorised with a matching hat topped with a stunning flower from Sarah Cant Millinery, heeled pumps and a small metallic handbag clutch.

Her blonde locks were swept up into a casual up-do for the daytime event, with her hair tucked behind her ears to reveal dainty silver earrings. Meanwhile, Mike looked dapper in a dress coat and purple tie to match his wife’s ensemble. Throughout the day the couple could be seen watching on intently as the races took part eager to see who could get over the line first.
