Princess Charlotte bears striking resemblance to Kitty Spencer in unseen photo

She is regularly compared to her great-grandmother Her Majesty the Queen, but a previously unseen photo has revealed the striking resemblance that Princess Charlotte bears to a member of her grandmother Princess Diana’s family. The four-year-old daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is a dead ringer for Diana’s niece Lady Kitty Spencer.

Lady Kitty, whose father is the Princess of Wales’s brother Earl Spencer, uploaded the sweet childhood photograph over the weekend which sparked a flurry of comments from royal fans who couldn’t believe how much she looked like the young princess.

The cute photo showed a young Lady Kitty, dressed in full riding gear, sitting astride a white pony as she looks over her shoulder into the distance. The resemblance between Charlotte and Kitty is easy to see, thanks to their large eyes and light brown hair and it didn’t take long for people to point out the similarities between the pair.

One fan wrote: “You look exactly like Charlotte.” While another commented: “Like Charlotte Cambridge.” And a third said: “Gosh you look like Princess Charlotte here.”

Kitty, 28, shared the image in the lead up to tomorrow’s Melbourne Cup, which she will be attending, and captioned it: “Lexus Melbourne Cup here we come!! Channelling my inner jockey since 1992!”

It’s not the first time that Kitty has been compared to her younger relative though as fans previously commented on the pair’s similarities when she uploaded another childhood snap of herself as a bridesmaid to Instagram earlier this year.

At the time, one follower wrote: “At first glance you exactly look like Princess Charlotte.” Another said: “Looks a lot like Princess Charlotte.”

And in November last year, Kitty sparked a frenzy amongst her followers when she posted a photograph of herself wearing her school uniform, once again looking almost identical to Charlotte, who is fourth in line to the throne. The black-and-white shot showed a four-year-old Kitty wearing a gingham dress, sweet white socks and black pumps.

Royal fans were quick to comment on the lookalike shot, with some saying that they even mistook the picture as being one of the young princess.

One said: “Princess Charlotte has the Spencer genes. You look so similar in this.” Another fan said: “How much does she look like Princess Charlotte.” While another added: “I thought it was princess Charlotte for a moment.”

“Wow, Princess Charlotte is so similar to you,” another wrote.
