It has been weeks since Prince Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child into the world and now friends of the royal couple has reportedly revealed just how besotted they are with little Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The young couple looked completely in love with their son as they stepped out for the first time together, shortly after his arrival earlier this month, and those feelings have only continued to grow – with Harry struggling to keep his eyes off him, according to People magazine.
While the Duke of Sussex has been busy with royal duties since the arrival of his first born, including a trip to Rome for a charity polo match for his organisation Sentebale, he is apparently happier than ever with his little family.
Speaking to People about the bond between Harry and Archie, chairman of Sentebale Johnny Hornby said he’s got the ‘new dad’ glow – something which Argentine polo player and friend Nacho Figueras reportedly noticed during his recent visit to Windsor.
“Nacho met little Archie last week and said that the duke couldn’t take his eyes off of him – nor his hands,” Hornby explained to the news outlet. “The two of them are just in a state of sheer delight over this birth.”
Sharing details of his visit, as well as Harry’s role as a dad, Figueras added to People that the duke has “always had a great love for children”.
“The Duke is the kind of father I always imagined he would be,” he explained, adding: “The Duke is very happy with this stage of his life and I believe he is going to enjoy it very much.”
It’s been weeks since the royals shared any details about how the newest member of the family is going, with the world only getting a glimpse of little Archie in the days after his birth.
Harry and Meghan shared a whole series of beautiful family photos online after his arrival. From an adorable snap showing the Queen and Prince Philip meeting their great-grandson alongside Meghan’s proud mum Doria Ragland, to stunning pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex themselves staring lovingly at their baby boy, there were a series of very natural and adorable moments captured in the photos.
In one, shared online in both colour and black and white by different royal Instagram accounts, Meghan was seen staring lovingly down at her son while the Queen stood in front of him laughing.

The royal family shared a sweet caption on the photo, writing: “The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were today introduced to the newborn son of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex at Windsor Castle. The Duchess’s mother, Ms Doria Ragland was also present. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to announce that they have named their son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.”
