Move over Special Buys! Coles launches new Best Buys range

May 31, 2020

You’d be hard pressed to find someone in Australia who isn’t at least aware of Aldi’s famed Special Buys offering, with the cut-price supermarket’s deals often making headlines. But now the German retail chain might have some competition as Coles has launched its own range of deals.

The supermarket giant launched its Best Buys range across a number of stores in Victoria and Western Australia on Friday, slashing the prices of a number of items in its cookware range. Some items have been reduced by as much as 80 per cent.

With prices starting at just $14.99 for a sauce pan, ranging up to $59.99 for a crock pot and $69.99 for an air fryer, shoppers can update their kitchen for a fraction of the price. The range also includes a dutch oven for $19.99 and a 3 litre casserole dish for just $24.99.

There’s also a number of other products on offer, including tupperware, children’s books, a dog bed and an electric facial cleanser.

Shoppers in Victoria can currently nab the deals in stores in Oakleigh, Brimbank, Dandenong, Roxburgh Park, Traralgon, Waurn Ponds, Sunbury, Craigieburn, Cranbourne Park, South Morang, Lavington and Shepparton. While in WA, shoppers in Maddington, Forest Lakes, Beechboro, Bassendean, Innaloo, Dianella, Warnbro, Haynes, Wanneroo, Mirrabooka, Bunbury, Lakelands, Whitford, Kalamunda and Gosnells stores can bag themselves a bargain.

The scheme is expected to roll out across the country in coming weeks, reports 7News.

It comes as Aldi launched its most recent Special Buys deal which included a budget range of cast-iron and enamel cookware. The luxury-inspired range by Crofton has previously been compared to high-end French brand Le Creuset and went on sale in stores across the country from May 30.

Prices start at just $2.99 for a two-pack of miniature casserole or assorted baking dishes, available in white, red, blue or black. For just $3.99 you can purchase matching silicone cooking utensils, and $7.99 will get you a cast-iron trivet (either square or round) on which to place your brand new pans once they’ve been in the oven.

While the most expensive item in the new range is a French pan, available in four colours, which will set customers back $26.99. The pan can be used on all stovetops including gas, electric, glass ceramic and induction, and is oven safe to 200 degrees celsius. While a matching stock pot, which holds an impressive 11 litres of liquid, comes in at just $19.99.
