They enjoyed their first fashion moment in the 1960 and 70s but flares have enjoyed a second resurgence in recent years, with people opting to once again wear the wide-legged pants. And one person who has embraced the throwback style is Channel Seven star Kylie Gillies who stepped out in a statement pair of flared trousers this week.

The Morning Show host looked sensational as she attended the opening night of ‘Chicago’ at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre on Tuesday evening, dressed head to toe in black for the star-studded occasion. But it was the 52-year-old presenter’s glittery black bottoms that stole the show.

Kylie shared several photos from the night on social media, showing off her outfit which adhered to the night’s ‘razzle dazzle’ dress code. The mum-of-two, who hosts the morning talk show alongside Larry Emdur, sparkled in the black pants, which she paired with an understated black top and satin blazer.

She finished the bold red carpet look with a small teal clutch bag, pair of black strappy heels and a pair of dangly earrings, with her short hair tucked behind one ear as she beamed for the cameras.

“C H I C A G O Opening Night,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside two images from the night. “So glorious to share it with my niece..who teaches High School Drama! Hope you enjoy it Ruth xx”

Kylie wasn’t the only star on the red carpet last night though, as Channel 10 star Angela Bishop also made an appearance as she attended the bash. The Studio 10 star and entertainment reporter also opted to dress all in black for the occasion.

Angela, who is the daughter of Bronwyn Bishop, looked stunning in a tight-fitting black dress, which featured eye-catching draped sleeves which hung down to her knees. The jaw-dropping frock also featured a daring v neckline which ran down to her stomach, with a discreet piece of mesh holding the dress in place.

Wearing her long blond locks in her signature loosely curled style, the 51-year-old journalist completed her stylish look with a pair of nude high heels, and some simple gold jewellery.
