Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster channel old-school glamour in 1920s-style garb

They’ve been married for 11 years and it looks like there’s still plenty of love between Rod Stewart and his glamorous wife Penny Lancaster.

The stylish couple led the stars for Vanity Fair’s Climate Exchange Gala in London on Tuesday night and couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces as they cosied up and posed for a few happy snaps on the red carpet.

Penny, 47, looked every bit the glamorous model as she stepped out in a figure-hugging black dress, which featured two see-through thigh splits. The blonde beauty teamed the saucy look with a black fur vest and a pair of silver towering heels.

Meanwhile Rod showed off his signature quirky fashion sense in a three-piece suit, which he paired with trendy loafers and a statement red stole.

The gala focussed on discussions about climate change and featured an array of speakers, who covered everything from plastic to global warming.

It’s the second time in a week the loved-up couple have made a stylish appearance out on the town. Last week they made quite the fashion statement at the Evgeny Lebedev Christmas Party in London.

Penny looked glamorous in a metallic wrap dress which showcased her toned pins. The former model teamed her outfit with a statement red fur jacket and a pair of pointed stilettos. Meanwhile Rod looked equally stylish in a stylish wool coat matched with a white dress shirt and funky leopard print shoes.

The couple were joined by plenty of other stars at the party, including Elizabeth Hurley, Helen Mirren and Robbie Williams.

The ‘Maggie May’ singer’s been happily married to wife Penny since 2007 and despite his reputation now says he’s happy to have a kiss and a cuddle before bed, and nothing more.

In a very candid chat with the Mail Online in August, he said: “I love sex with my wife but I love just giving her a hug before we go to bed. Every night we have a kiss and a hug and that doesn’t always lead to sex but it’s still lovely.”

He added that he wouldn’t swap happy family life with Penny and their sons Aiden, 7, and Alastair, 12, for a return to his lothario days, which Stewart admits saw him act like a cad plenty of times.

“It was a different era but that’s no excuse really,” he says of the abrupt way he ended some previous dalliances. “I can be accused of being cowardly, and rightly so.”

Rod has been married twice before, once to American actress Alana Hamilton and a second time to model Rachel Hunter, and has eight children in total as well as one grandchild.
