Princess Mary shows off her fashion credentials in sophisticated black suit

When it comes to royal fashion, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark rarely puts a toe out of line, regularly flaunting her faultless taste for clothes

The Hobart-born member of European royalty may be more often seen in flowing ball gowns and ceremonial dress, however her latest outfit proved that the mum-of-four has her finger firmly on the pulse when it comes to fashion.

Princess Mary stepped out wearing an elegant two-piece black suit on Tuesday, which featured an oversized double-breasted blazer jacket and a pair of matching wide-leg slacks.

The glamorous princess completed the look with a black camisole beneath her jacket, a small clutch bag and matching black heels. She wore her raven locks down, in her usual style, and kept her make-up classic with a subtle smoky eye.

Mary, who married Crown Prince Frederik in 2004, was attending an event in honour of World Cancer Day, at which she presented the Danish Cancer Society’s Award of Honor [sic].

The 46-year-old handed the award to grocery store chains, including Aldi, COOP, Lidl, REMA 1000, Salling Group and Magasin, in recognition of their decision to store tobacco out of view in their stores.

It’s been a busy week for Princess Mary as she attended another awards ceremony on Saturday, this time to hand over the Women’s Board Award 2019 to Helle Valentin. The hard working recipient is the Global Account Partner at IBM Denmark, a member of the Dutch building giant Royal BAM Group board and a board member for PFA.

Yet again, the Aussie-born princess put on a gorgeous display in a a perfectly fitted grey jacket and pleated skirt as she presented a well-deserved recipient with their prize.

The award was first presented in Denmark in 2014 as a way to create greater diversity in the top of the Danish business community. It also aims to highlight female board members who are rising in their ranks.

“The prize was originally founded by the Norwegian organisation Styreinformation and is also distributed in Norway and Sweden,” the Danish royal family wrote on Instagram.
