Her father may have made a very public plea for contact just hours ago, but Meghan didn’t let it stop her carrying out her royal engagements with a huge smile and her usual elegant style on Tuesday in London.

The Duchess of Sussex looked glowing as she showed off her growing baby bump in a tight-fitting floral dress to visit retiree entertainers at the Royal Variety nursing home, Brinsworth House, in the city – which is home to former actors and entertainment veterans.

Cradling her stomach as she arrived, Prince Harry’s wife, 37, opted for a light knee-length Brock Collection dress with floral patterns from top to bottom, reportedly priced at £834 (AU$1,460). She wrapped up outside with a stylish grey wool coat by Canadian brand Soia & Kyo, before taking it off to meet the residents inside.

Wearing her hair tied tightly back in a bun, Meghan went for quite a natural look on the solo outing as she sat down with retirees inside to chat to them and take part in some crafts, before reportedly being treated to a singalong.

She appeared completely at ease as she listened to each of them speak about their careers and lives in videos shared on Twitter by Kensington Palace. Meanwhile, a caption on Instagram read: “The Royal Variety Charity, of which The Queen is Patron, assists those who have worked professionally in the entertainment industry and are in need of help and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.

“The Duchess attended this year’s Royal Variety Performance with The Duke in November. Proceeds raised from the event go directly towards supporting Brinsworth House.”

According to The Sun‘s royal correspondent, Meghan was asked by one of the residents how she’s finding pregnancy and she replied: “I’m looking very pregnant today!”

Meghan was then heard asking the lady if she ever had children, to which she replied: “No, I had a career” – something Meghan said that she understood herself.

Her appearance sent fans into a frenzy as many commented on how much her bump has grown in the last few weeks. One commented on Instagram: “Big bump already!”

Meanwhile one wrote on Twitter: “Her Royal Highness was incredible with the residents, she’s such a sweetheart,” and one added: “Adore the fact Meghan is back out cradling that gorgeous baby bump.”

The outing came after Meghan featured in her first royal Christmas card as a duchess, after the Sussexes chose a brand new image from their wedding reception earlier this year to front their 2018 holiday card.

The gorgeous black and white photo shows them stood arm in arm watching a magnificent fireworks display over Frogmore House – the location of their reception and soon to be their new home.

While Meghan is stood in the floor-length white Stella McCartney dress that she wore for the evening reception, she is holding an arm round her husband’s waist and staring off into the distance.

And she’s ignored ongoing public appearances from her family members in the US, as the duchess’ latest outing came hours after her father appeared on UK TV show Good Morning Britain.

Thomas Markle, 74, appeared via video link to claim he had been making near constant attempts to contact his daughter since her wedding – but has been “ghosted” every time.

“I’m very disappointed by it. I’m not sure why it’s happening. I’m reaching out… every day I try and text her and just haven’t had any comment back,” he said on the show.

Asked if he had a message for the Queen, he told host Piers Morgan: “I would appreciate anything she can do and I would think that she would want to resolve the family problems … All families, royal or otherwise, are the same and they should all be together certainly around the holidays.”
