Fancy florals and feathers: Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman debut striking looks

Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman showed off their timeless and striking styles at the premiere of their hit television series this week, both turning heads in incredible outfits.

The two talented actresses exuded confidence as they posed for snaps at the Big Little Lies season two premiere in New York City on Wednesday, looking stunning in their gorgeous outfit choices.

Mamma Mia! star Meryl took a step away from her usual style choices in a beautiful long floral dress which flowed gracefully to the floor. The 69-year-old looked glowing in the frock, which she paired with a pair of simple black heels and dangly black earrings.

Meanwhile, Meryl opted to keep her blonde locks down and straight and added further pops of colour with a soft pink lip and a swipe of blush.

Her co-star Nicole went for a much darker colour scheme in a striking black sequinned jacket with feather cuffs and black pants. The 51-year-old teamed this with a pair of black and silver stilettos, while her strawberry-blonde locks were styled in soft waves over her shoulder.

Brightening up her look, the mother-of-four sported a bold red lip and accessorised with a chunky silver necklace and earrings.

Prior to stepping out for the event at the Lincoln Centre, Nicole took some time out with her husband Keith Urban to perform a beautiful duet of one of her hit Moulin Rouge songs.

The star shared a video of the adorable couple singing Elton John’s Your Song, which famously featured in Nicole’s movie Moulin Rouge. Keith, 51, takes the lead in the song, playing the tune on the piano while his doting wife sits behind showing off her vocals.

The pair share adoring glances at each other throughout the song as they get caught up in the moment together. While at the end they enjoy a laugh together before Nicole asks: “Any other requests?”

Fans were quick to comment on the performance with many claiming it had “Moulin Rouge vibes”.

“My all time favourite movie is Moulin Rouge! This is everything!” one person wrote on Instagram. “This is so adorable I can’t stand it. The way these two look at each other is perfection,” another added.

While a third commented: “This is really beautiful.”

Nicole has been quite active on social media lately, also sharing a rare snap of her daughters Sunday and Faith recently. In the beautiful photo the doting mum gives her two children a big hug, pulling them close to her for the embrace.

The star simply captioned the post on Instagram: “I am nothing without the love of my family.”
