Melanie Griffith looks chic in black suit with delicate lace blouse

Melanie Griffith doesn’t attend many Hollywood parties these days, but when she does, she almost always sticks to her signature combo of basic black with a hint of pretty lace.

The 62-year-old actress looked sophisticated at the launch of Victoria Beckham’s new beauty collection in California, wearing a tailored black suit with a lace blouse underneath.

The Working Girl star cleverly kept the slightly oversized blazer fastened so it cinched at her small waist with a button. The matching trousers had a slight flare, allowing her silver heels to peep out. A small black clutch and loose waves in her hair kept Melanie’s look understated and classy.

While the cinched waist on the suit was the only nod to her great, figure, the actress sent her fans wild in October when she posted a photo of herself wearing an underwear brand she was promoting, showing off her figure in a very confident pose in front of the mirror.

Melanie stripped down to black knickers and a matching bra – and obligatory high heels – for the snap, which she posted to help raise money for breast cancer research. She explained on the post that her two friends had set up the lingerie line, with a portion of sales going towards different charities each month.

As one fan quipped with Melanie’s own saucy line from Working Girl: “She’s got a head for business and a bod for sin”.

She followed a stream of other stars posing in the line’s lingerie to promote the amazing cause. Melanie gave them a shoutout in her caption, writing: “So these 2 awesome, creative, incredibly chic stylists..@sweetbabyjamie and @simoneharouche have started this amazing new lingerie line @thekitundergarments. I love everything they have made and btw want one of each! They also donate a portion of anything you buy to charity.”

Melanie, now 62, joked last year that she was “61 and sassy” – a birthday she marked with her own InStyle magazine spread.

Sharing a picture from the magazine at the time, the actress and mother of three looked youthful with curly hair and a black top that showed off her cleavage.

Melanie, the daughter of Alfred Hitchcock actress Tippi Hedren, has been immersed in showbiz since she was a child and appeared in her first movie at just 17. She’s best known, though, for her turn as feisty secretary Tess McGill in 1988’s Working Girl.
