Fashionista! Julie Bishop turns heads in monochrome mini skirt and blazer

Julie Bishop may have stepped away from her career in politics, but the 63-year-old has maintained a strong presence in the media with her eye-catching outfits earning her the new title of fashionista.

Even while she was working, the former pollie received a lot of attention for her stylish ensembles, but since retiring from the fast-paced life, she has ramped it up to another level. From figure-hugging dresses, to flowing gowns, Julie never seems to make a wrong choice when it comes to her outfits, and her latest get-up was no different.

The previous minister of foreign affairs, showed off her stunning figure in a gorgeous monochrome ensemble at the Portsea Polo on Saturday, alongside her partner David Panton. Her toned legs were on full display in the white pinstripe blazer and matching mini skirt, which she paired with black platform heels.

Keeping it simple, yet classy, Julie accessorised with a black and white patterned handbag, which was slung over her shoulder, black dangly earrings and designer sunglasses. The former politician, posed confidently for photos alongside her David, who looked dapper in a white polo shirt, blue check jacket, black shorts and stylish white sneakers.

Also in attendance at the event in Victoria’s capital was Australian jockey Michelle Payne. The former Melbourne Cup winner, looked gorgeous in a sleeveless red dress, which fell just above her knees, and black heels.

She accessorised with a chunky gold chain necklace and gold loop earrings, and kept her brunette locks out of her face with a loose up-do.

For Julie, it was her first appearance at a major event for 2020, having been last spotted out and about at a Christmas party just prior to December 25.

The 63-year-old looked effortlessly stylish for the outing in a tight-fitting midi dress which featured a striking floral pattern. She coupled the dress with gold statement earrings and matching strappy heels, but cleverly kept her hair and make-up low-key to let the vibrant dress do the talking.

Looking as stylish as ever, Julie smiled broadly for the cameras at the event on Sunday.

Taking to social media following the outing Julie posted a gorgeous photo of herself, with the caption: “Christmas by the beach with #Burundi drummers. Thanks #natashastottdespoja #iansmith @barefoot_to_boots_org for another fabulous party.”
