She’s become a fashion icon thanks to her impeccable style and Helen Mirren didn’t disappoint in the fashion department as she turned heads in a stylish ensemble on Monday.

The English actress, 73, was all smiles as she stepped out with her husband Taylor Hackford 74, and darling grandson Waylon to attend the premiere of Disney’s new live action remake of the classic tale Dumbo.

Helen looked lovely in the elegant ensemble which included a grey maxi dress and matching ankle boots paired with a netted monochrome cardigan.

The look was a far cry from the high-fashion dresses the 73-year-old actress usually dons for walks down the red carpet, but goes to show that if you’ve got the right basics in your wardrobe, you can quickly channel your own signature style without too much effort.

In addition to her simple yet fashion-forward outfit, Helen completed the ensemble with a dazzling pair of pearl earrings, and kept her makeup classic with a glossy bright pink lip.

Meanwhile her director husband, who she has been married to since 1997, kept it casual in black slacks and a jacket. The couple brought along their grandson, who was dressed up like a circus ringmaster with a red cape and black top hat.

While Helen has no children of her own, her husband has two children from his previous marriages, sons Rio, 49, and Alex, 40.

Meanwhile, Helen proved she is every bit a fashion icon as she showed off yet another stylish outfit last month. Attending the Oscars, the actress stole the show in a vibrant pink dress, which she coordinated with a matching pink clutch. Wearing her hair loose with a sweeping fringe, she once again defied the years for the annual bash.

It comes after Helen recently opened up on her friendships with members of the royal family.

The actress, who is an ambassador for Prince Charles’ The Prince’s Trust charity, appeared on an episode of Good Morning Britain in February where she was happy to talk about her interactions with the royals.

The hosts of the show were curious to know whether the Woman in Gold star had ever talked about her previous role as Queen Elizabeth with Prince Charles.

“No, that’s never mentioned,” she laughed. “He’s very very tactful.”

She then went on to discuss that both Prince Harry and Prince William have mentioned it to her before.

“They have mentioned it to me and they have been very funny about it and very cool about it,” the Calendar Girls star admitted. “I think Harry once said, when I was at an awards ceremony, he said, ‘And Granny is here’. I was rather insulted by that.”
