With the Halloween season well and truly in full swing across America, celebrities are taking up the opportunity to show off their wild styles. In keeping with tradition, the queen of Halloween, Bette Midler, didn’t disappoint in the costume department as she hosted the annual Hulaween Gala in Manhattan on Monday night.

The Hocus Pocus actress, 72, went full-on futuristic for the event, donning a metallic silver mini-dress, grey jewel-encrusted tights and a pair of glitter heels.

Bette also sported a drastically different hair-do, which featured silver streaks running through her locks and galactic-inspired ornaments dangling from her head.

The charity bash benefits the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), which Bette founded in 1995. The NYRP has spent the last two decades transforming open spaces in New York’s under-resourced communities to be safer, healthier and happier.

Bette’s look-alike daughter Sophie Von Haselberg, 31, was also in attendance donning a shimmering black gown and elaborate headdress.

Bette recently joined her Hocus Pocus co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy in a Freeform special celebrating the Halloween classic’s 25th anniversary. The movie is getting a remake with a brand new cast and Bette has been teasing the big revival on social media all month, posting photos and videos from the original film.

According to Deadline, the TV movie remake will be a reimagining of the 1993 cult classic, in which three witches are resurrected and spend Halloween night terrorising children.

Kenny Ortega, who directed the Halloween favourite, will not be involved with the new project — and neither will its original Sanderson sisters, Bette, Kathy and Sarah.

And while most fans were excited for the return of the beloved Halloween film, many were not thrilled at the prospect of a totally new cast.

“Disney channel is rebooting Remaking ‘hocus pocus’ good luck finding an actor that can fill the shoes of @BetteMidler,” wrote one Twitter user at the time.
