She was a style icon for millions of teens throughout the 1990s, and at 62 it looks like actress Harriet Thorpe is still as fabulous as ever!
Harriet Thorpe, best known for her role as Fleur in Absolutely Fabulous — an eccentric fashion colleague of Joanna Lumley’s Patsy — pulled out all the stops this week as she stepped out for the Golden Bucket Awards in London on Friday.
The English actress rocked a pair of figure-hugging leather pants for the occasion, proving she’s still every bit the fashionista. Harriet paired the leather pants with a see-through black chiffon blouse and black boots, while she wore her chocolate brown locks in a stylish upstyle. She accessorised with a pair of sparkly silver drop earrings and a matching headband.
Harriet’s glamorous outing comes after her co-star Joanna Lumley hinted that an Absolutely Famous reboot is possible during an interview with The Daily Telegraph last year. The 72-year-old British actress admitted she wouldn’t rule out reviving her memorable role of Patsy Stone in the hit 1990s series. Joanna played the stylish magazine fashion director in the popular comedy series, opposite Jennifer Saunders’ Edina Monsoon.
“We keep thinking it is the end but there is some weird nagging thing, particularly for Patsy and Eddie, they don’t seem to have gone back into their boxes so maybe something will come up,” she told the publication.
And Joanna’s biggest reasons for wanting to revive her character? She doesn’t want to have any regrets later in life.
“You cram it all in and do what you can because you will regret it when you are 90 and drooling and unable to walk,” she added.
Absolutely Fabulous hit television screens in 1992 and ran for five seasons before going off air in 2012. The show was one of the most popular sitcoms of all time, and is ranked as the 17th greatest British TV show of all time by the British Film Institute. A film based on the series was released to theatres in 2016.
