Karl Stefanovic’s ex drags kids into slanging match, says they snubbed his vows

They were pictured jetting out to Mexico with their father ahead of his wedding to new wife Jasmine Yarbrough, but now Karl Stefanovic’s ex wife Cassandra Thorburn has claimed her children never actually attended his wedding ceremony.

In a cutting new interview with New Idea magazine, which was teased as the “full report” just days after the magazine published an initial story from the same interview, the mother-of-three hit out at her ex-husband’s new wife and even aired her views on Karl’s ‘Ubergate’ scandal.

When asked whether her kids Jackson, 19, Ava, 13, and River, 12, attended the ceremony, Cassandra, 47, reportedly told the mag: “They were told they never had to go… My 19-year-old [Jackson] has assured me they did not attend.”

Eldest son Jackson was pictured walking alongside his father as they arrived into Mexico shortly before the wedding. However, Cassandra sensationally claimed he only attended to “protect” his younger siblings, who had no choice but to go.

In fact, she told the mag Karl had previously set aside the two weeks as a family holiday, before timing his wedding to fall in the same period to ensure they’d be there.

It was previously reported that Jackson and his girlfriend Anna attended the wedding reception for a short amount of time, to pass on their best wishes, however Cassandra appeared to slam that claim too.

Elsewhere, she reportedly took aim at new bride Jasmine in the interview too, claiming she hired five makeup artists from LA to help her glam up for the wedding. When asked how she knew this, she said she still sees Karl’s bills, appearing to hint their finances are somewhat entwined following their divorce.

Meanwhile, she also spoke out for the first time about Karl’s ‘Ubergate’ scandal – which saw details of a conversation he had about his Today co-star Georgie Gardner in a taxi leaked to the public. Cassandra told the mag that Georgie should have done more to “stand up for women”, before claiming she may have even accepted hush money at the time. There’s no evidence to suggest this claim is true.

It comes after Cassandra was quoted as calling her ex a “narcissist” and “fake” by the magazine last week, allegedly in the same interview.

She later appeared on Studio 10 to deny ever making the remarks and insisting it was never an “interview”.

Karl and Jasmine tied the knot in the Mexican resort of San Jose del Cabo on December 15, before partying the night away with around 200 wedding guests following the ceremony at the lavish One & Only Palmilla Resort chapel.

Jasmine wore a custom above-the-knee gown which featured a long train by Australian designer Jessica Andreatta. The mini dress featured soft blush tulle, and patterned beading over the lace. She wore her blonde locks in a low elegant bun – attached to which was a long lace veil.

Meanwhile, Karl looked dapper in a white Tom Ford suit paired with R.M. Williams boots.
