Samuel Johnson’s Logie stolen after sister’s fundraising event

Samuel Johnson took home the Gold Logie earlier this year.

Actor Samuel Johnson’s silver Logie was stolen from a pub in Melbourne yesterday where it had been on display to raise awareness for his charity Love Your Sister.

The Brunswick Hotel reported the Logie stolen after first thinking it had gone missing as a joke.

Samuel has worked tirelessly over the past few years to raise awareness and funds for cancer research after watching his sister Connie live through a difficult cancer battle.

The pub’s owner Richard Kruk told 9NEWS the Logie statue was eventually found discarded in the bushes at a nearby golf course.

Two men were arrested for the theft, but Samuel has reportedly decided not to press charges.

“He [the Logie] was at the bar one minute, next minute he was gone. We made a few phone calls and he turned up at the police station safe and sound,” Kruk said.

“You always think it’s a joke and so many people have come in and tried to take photos and did the whole ‘I’m going to take off with it’, and I think at the time the bar staff thought it was a joke as well.”

Earlier this week, Samuel and Connie hosted their biggest fundraising event of the year, flying to Canberra to create a giant heart out of silver coins and raising a whopping $2 million for cancer research.

Are you glad the Logie turned up safe and sound? What do you think of Sam’s support for his sister Connie?
