Rolf Harris’ court drama will continue as he is scheduled for a retrial of the three complaints of sexual assault along with a new one.

The Crown Prosecution Service released a statement late yesterday stating, “After careful consideration, we have decided to seek a retrial of Rolf Harris in relation to the charges of non-recent indecent assault on which the jury were unable to agree in respect of three of the complainants. A new, fourth count of indecent assault has also been added.”

The CPS continued, “This decision was taken after consideration of all the matters set out in our legal guidance on seeking re-trials when a jury has failed to agree on a verdict.

“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against Rolf Harris remain active and that he has a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”

Mr Harris entered a plea of “not guilty” to the most recent charge while on a video link to the court from prison where he is serving time for his 2014 conviction of 12 indecent assaults against four women.

The announcement has split opinions as people argue on both sides.

What do you think about it?  Do you think that there should be a retrial or should the court case be only for new charges?

ROLF HARRIS is a PEDOPHILE, Lets not forget that, he committed a multitude of offenses against children, he is not an innocent man, he deserves to be where he is and should never be granted Parole, may he rot where is….

  2. It seems people are been very forgiving about Rolf Harris. I am not, is he is a pedophile, let’s not forget that, he abused innocent YOUNG children, who will recall what he did to them for the rest of their lives. Let’s do a retrial and this time make the sentence fit the crime, his initial sentence was like giving him a slap on the wrist. He should not even be allowed parole at any time, the children have been given a life sentence thanks to him, let him have the same.

Like the problems within the churches, many ppl feared they would not be believed.
Think about that and all the ramifications that go along with the accusations.
      He should rot in jail.

This is becoming a witch hunt! Seems to me too much time has elapsed from when the crime(?) was committed to when the complaints were laid! Are these people thinking Rolf is old and on his way out so now would be a good time to get some money in compensation? Me thinks that could be the case! Why didn’t they come forward 40 odd years ago, things would have looked better for them then!
