Hollywood is mourning the loss of another great today with the sad news that Sir Roger Moore has died overnight at the age of 89.
The legendary James Bond actor died after a short battle with cancer, his family said in a statement on his Twitter page.
“It is with a heavy heart that we must announce our loving father, Sir Roger Moore, has passed away today in Switzerland after a short but brave battle with cancer,” they wrote.
“The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone.”

Moore played James Bond is seven films between 1972 and 1985 including Live and Let Die, The Man With The Golden Gun and A View To Kill.
He remains the longest serving James Bond actor.
As his family stated on Twitter, Moore continued to work into his 90th birthday.
Aside from his acting, he was also a passionate supporter of UNICEF and did a lot of work with them, something his family say he called his greatest achievement.
Moore will be farewelled at a private funeral in Monaco.
He is survived by his wife Kristina and his children Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian.
