There’s been some criticism aimed at 60 Minutes over its handling of the Cassie Sainsbury story, particularly for dragging up her past.

But while some people merely switched off their TVs or changed the channel, others have resorted to humour to criticise the show.

SBS satire show The Feed has taken aim at 60 Minutes with a hilarious skit – and it’s giving many Aussies a laugh on social media.

The skit is done in the traditional style of a 60 Minutes story, featuring the ticking clock and all.

“Last night on 60 Minutes, we brought you the story of accused drug smuggler Cassie Sainsbury and her sex worker past,” the mock presenter says.

“It’s raised a lot of questions, like, why the f*** did you need to tell anyone about that?

“Well, tonight, a related story. We delve deep into the seedy underbelly of Australian journalism.”

The video goes on with the mock presenter giving a piece to camera outside the Channel 9 studio, which he describes as a “den of chequebook journalism and muck raking”.

The Feed team poke fun at 60 Minutes over its interest in accused drug smugglers, claims they paid Cassie’s family for their interviews and makes fun of people who actually watched the show.

At one point the skit even brings up the 60 Minutes kidnapping scandal, with a mock witness in the video stating “I expected better from a show that facilitated the kidnapping of two children.”

Watch the video below, it’s sure to give you a laugh!
