Gable Tostee has some offensive messages for women

Gable Tostee, who shocked Australians with his actions around the death of Warriena Wright, is back in the headlines.

The Gold Coast man, who reportedly changed his name to Eric Thomas after he was acquitted last year of the murder and manslaughter of Wright, has fought back against criticism that he posted an offensive message about women on Facebook, by posting a another offensive message about women on Facebook.

News Limited publications first reported reported that a Facebook account operated by Tostee tweeted on March 9: “Happy International Women’s Day to all ma hoes.”

When one of his Facebook followers pointed out that newspaper columnist Clementine Ford had written a column about Tostee and suggested that she should screengrab Tostee’s International Women’s Day message, Tostee, posting as Eric Thomas, replied “Go on, send it to the c***.”

The International Women’s Day post was also discussed on the Sunrise program today by host Samantha Armytage, which prompted Tostee to post a story about the discussion and insult Armytage and her guests.

Tostee was excoriated in 2014 after it emerged that he had locked Wright, who he’d met on Twitter on the same evening, on the 14^th floor balcony of his Gold Coast apartment. Wright attempted to escape the balcony by climbing over the railings, but instead fell to her death.

Instead of immediately reporting the incident, a court heart that Tostee left his apartment to buy a piece of pizza, before calling his father.

The young carpet-layer argued later that he was attempting to calm an agitated Wright, who he said had thrown ornamental rocks and verbally abused him while drinking at his apartment.

He was acquitted last year of murder and manslaughter charges related to the 2014 incident.
