There’s been a lot of attention about Maddie McCann lately with the 10th anniversary of her disappearance.

But her name is in the headlines for a different reason today, and it’s something causing plenty of outrage on social media.

A bookshop in the UK has stirred controversy on social media with a sales sticker it’s placed on a bestselling book about the disappearance of Maddie McCann.

A photo of the unfortunate faux pas has stirred debate online with many questioning whether it was an honest mistake or an intentional pun.

The sticker reads: “When it’s gone, it’s gone!”.

As many people on social media have pointed out, it’s probably not the best sales sticker to have on a book about a missing girl.

Some people have reacted with humour to The Works bookstores sticker, others have reacted with rage.
