Actor Bill Paxton has died aged 61

Bill Paxton has died aged 61.

The world has lost another famous face overnight, with the news that Hollywood actor Bill Paxton has died aged 61.

If you’re a fan of film, you’d remember Paxton from several of the biggest movies in the ’90s including Titanic, Aliens and Mighty Joe Young.

He died unexpectedly overnight from complications following heart surgery.

Other films you might remember Paxton in include The Terminator, True Lies, Twister and Apollo 13.

His death has shocked many in Hollywood, with stars posting tributes on social media.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, who starred alongside Paxton in The Terminator, described him as a “great human being with a big heart” on Twitter.

“Bill Paxton could play any role, but he was best at being Bill,” he wrote.

“My thoughts are with his family.”

Tom Hanks also paid tribute to the star on Twitter.

“Bill Paxton was, simply, a wonderful man. A wonderful man…” he wrote.

‘More recently Paxton was starring in a CBS series called the Training Day, which he was working on up until his death.

CBS released a joint statement with Warner Bros Television, paying tribute to their fallen actor.

“We are shocked and deeply saddened this morning by the news of Bill Paxton’s passing,” they wrote.

“Bill was, of course, a gifted and popular actor with so many memorable roles on film and television.

“His colleagues at CBS and Warner Bros. Television will also remember a guy who lit up every room with infectious charm, energy and warmth, and as a great storyteller who loved to share entertaining anecdotes and stories about his work. All of us here offer our deepest sympathy to his wife, Louise, and his two children.”
