1970 cold case murder has now had an arrest

January 12, 1970, Fairy Meadow Beach, three-year-old Cheryl Grimmer went into the surf club change room with her brothers and vanished.

The case went cold, and many thought that there would never be any resolution, but police announced in late 2016 that they had some new evidence in the case that they were going to chase.

That chase which leads to an arrest, as a 63-year-old man is now behind bars and will be extradited to New South Wales. The man was arrested 1 PM yesterday in an outer Melbourne suburb.

Witnesses said they saw a teenager hanging around the change rooms the day that Cheryl went missing, which would make the man arrested 16-years-old at the time of Cheryl’s disappearance.

this case quickly became one of the most notorious mysteries in Australia after a large scale search, and the offer of $100,000 reward for information went nowhere.

Cheryl’s body has never been recovered and her parents passed away never knowing what happened to their little girl. However, her three brothers may now find out what happened.

Do you remember when this happened in 1970?
