If you’re in the market for some new luggage you might want to think about paying a visit to supermarket giant Aldi.
The discount retailer has confirmed its highly anticipated luggage-themed special buys sale will start on Saturday, June 29, seeing prices slashed on a range of travel products, including suitcases, travel adaptors, trolley backpacks, anti-theft cross body bags and digital suitcase scales.
For starters, shoppers will be able to pick up a two-piece luggage set for $89.99. The ultra light set by Skylite comes with a large case (78 centimetres) and small case (67cm), both featuring 360-degree removable wheels, padded top, side handles and TSA locks.
The supermarket giant will also be selling its Skylite polypropylene 76cm suitcase for a mere $79.99, and the carry-on version, at 55cm, for just $40. Both suitcases come with a built-in TSA lock, double zippers and double spinner wheels.
In the past, comparison site Choice has rated Aldi’s suitcases up there among other well-known brands such as Samsonite. For example, when pitted against each other, both cases — Aldi’s $40 56cm Spinner and Samsonite’s $329 55cm Spinner — scored an equal 86 per cent across a range of tests including durability, stability and more.
Meanwhile, shoppers will also be able to purchase a trolley backpack for $39.99, a rolling duffel bag for $24.99, digital suitcase scales for $9.99, universal travel adaptor kit for $19.99 and an anti-theft cross body bag for $19.99.
