Breaking: US swimmers pulled off plane by police in Rio after mugging claims

Only days ago the world was shocked by claims from US superstar swimmer Ryan Lochte and his teammates that they were robbed at gun point by muggers in Rio after a night out celebrating their medal wins.

Now though, there are accusation flying that the men made up or exaggerated their story. A judge has ordered the passports of Ryan Lochte, Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger be seized and only moments ago Gunnar and Jack were pulled off a plane as they tried to fly back home to America.

Police boarded a plane as it sat on the tarmac at Rio de Janeiro’s international airport and pulled forced them off the plane for questioning.

Ryan has already flown home to the US, with many speculating her knew what was coming and made a quick escape.

The men had previously told media a dramatic story about the mugging, saying they were forced to hand over their belongings after men dressed in police uniforms held them up and threatened them.

Ryan gave a dramatic interview with NBC news where he said one of the men held a gun to his forehead and told him to hand over his wallet.

However, their story was thrown into question when footage emerged of the men laughing and smiling as they returned to the Olympic Village after the alleged incident.

In the video, it appears that the men are carrying some of the belongings they say were stolen.

Police are now investigating their story. If they are found to be lying they could be charged and face a maximum three year sentence in a Brazilian prison.
