An emotional Celine Dion took to the stage in Las Vegas for her first performance since the death of her husband Rene Angelil.

Dressed in a beautiful gown the singer belted out the first half of her hit song All By Myself before being overcome with tears.

In a video taken by an audience member, Celine is seen holding her hands to her face as she openly weeps in front of the crowd.

Within seconds the audience is on their feet, rallying around the singer with cheers and loud clapping, encouraging her to go one.

Celine has been trying to deal with the death of her husband and former manager since he passed away from throat cancer in January, as well as her brother’s death just days later.

She decided to head back to her residency in Las Vegas, where René watched her perform most nights, in a bid to start to heal and move on after his passing.

The poignant song All By Myself hit home for Celine, who is trying to find the strength to support her children and honour her fans who have paid hundreds of dollars to see her perform.

Take a look at her performance here and tell us: does it make you feel for the singer during this difficult time?

Are you a fan of Celine? Can you relate to her feelings of loss and heartache?

    • You’ve obviously never experienced the loss of a close loved relative. If you cannot say anything nice or positive, just shut that hole in the front of your face and sit on your hands.

    • Perhaps you would both like to recall she was divorcing him 2 weeks before he died.

So much for him being a close loved relative.

You are both ignorant, and extremely rude.

    • Oh and Shirley- Marie…..2 brothers, 1 sister, 1 sister in law and a nephew have all died in the past 5 years, perhaps the hole which should be shut is yours

    • He has a very good point why put yourself in that situation, and before you attack me I have lost around 10 close relatives so I think I am qualified to comment. 🙂

    • I have no real opinion on this what so ever except that I enjoy her singing but why do people have to be so rude, could you not just say Mariat..sorry I don’t agree with you ?

  3. Far too early for her to go back to work, I’m sure her fans could have dealt with being reimbursed while she grieves.

  4. I have admired her voice for years but she should be home with her children at this time for her children as well as her …she mustn’t need the money and the children would need her too there must be time for grieving together there will be plenty of time for singing later

  5. My wife and I saw her last concert in Las Vegas before René’s passing. Her professionalism was amazing… maybe she found solace and comfort in singing to her adoring audience.

  6. Amazing talent! And doesn’t have to wear next to nothing and flaunt her bits! I have an understanding on how she feels having lost a wife to cancer…I am amazed she had the strength to even be there!

  7. Unless you have walked.in her shoes you would not know what she is feeling.
It was her music and songs that got me throught some VERYdark places after the loss of my soulmate. I take my hat off to her.
