To wee, or not to wee? Wife slams husband’s dirty shower habit
An anonymous woman sparked furious debate by asking if she was unreasonable to think peeing in the shower was gross.
Writing to online forum Gransnet, she said her husband recently admitted to peeing in the shower.
“It was mentioned on a TV programme and I asked dh if he ever did that and he admitted that he does when he’s caught short! I was shocked and I am no way a prude. What do others think of this?”
Readers, however, didn’t seem too fussed, with many admitting to peeing in the shower regularly.
“I do it too, can’t see what’s so shocking tbh [to be honest],” one commentator wrote.
Another reader said they couldn’t see the problem, since the water would immediately wash the urine away. “What’s the problem? I’d guess that most people do that at times. I’ve done it myself. There is plenty of water washing it away!”
“I must be a bad person, because the minute I step in the shower I just can’t help it – even if I’ve just been! The running water sets me off,” one reader confessed.
Another added: “I discovered my DH does it. Never thought of doing it myself but realised it wasn’t actually a problem. Tried it myself once recently but it felt odd.”
But other users were not impressed, with one writing: “No, no and no just too revolting to contemplate. Use the toilet before stepping into the shower.”
Another added: “Yuck, didn’t know people did this. Disgusting.”
If you pee in the shower, you’re in good company. According to a 2014 YouGov survey almost half of men admit to having urinated in the shower – and a quarter of all Brits say doing so is acceptable. The survey found that 41 per cent of men have weed in the shower, 27 per cent of women. Meanwhile, 50 per cent of people have urinated in the ocean or sea, and 52 per cent think it is okay to do so.
