Incredible and terrifying footage from inside the Thai cave where 12 boys and their coach were trapped has been released, showcasing the dangerous journey rescue workers took to safely remove the soccer team.
Trapped inside the Tham Luang cave for 17 days, the team are now recovering in hospital after surviving on the bare minimum while brave divers from across the world planned the escape route.
However, the new footage, posted on the Thai Navy SEAL Facebook page captioned “the operation the world never forgets”, highlights just how dangerous the mission was, as it shows what appears to be the young boys being carried out on stretchers.
With only the dim lights of torches guiding their way, workers are seen sliding the stretcher through extremely tight sections with the dark, murky water filling the cave below.
Executing the terifying rescue over three days, the brave divers are shown watching on as the stretcher is directed overhead on a pulley system.
Earlier in the week Sunrise reporter Chris Reason showed a sneak peak inside the opening chamber, but this latest footage has made the shocking rescue all that more incredible.

The world held its breath over the past few weeks, as eyes were glued to television screens waiting for the news of the team’s safe rescue.
Around 6pm local time on Tuesday it was a moment of relief for loved ones when the last child emerged from the cave, safely followed by the 25-year-old coach.
All members of the Wild Boards soccer team were transported by ambulance and helicopter to a hospital in the Thailand province of Chiang Rai, where they will remain until given the all clear from medical professionals.
Meanwhile, hero Australian doctor Richard “Harry” Harris has been praised for his efforts in the rescue, labelled an “inspiration” by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.

However, the brave South Australian anaesthetist and experienced cave diver has insisted it was very much a team effort, thanking his colleagues and the young boys for their courage.
“They are the toughest blokes and kids I have ever had the privilege to meet,” he said in a conversation with the Prime Minister.
Sadly just hours after making his way out of the cave, Harris received the heartbreaking news that his father had died.
