She’s been catapulted into the limelight over the last few years thanks to her husband Donald Trump and his controversial policies, but now First Lady Melania has opened up in an explosive TV interview – claiming she feels like “the most bullied person in the world”.

Speaking to Good Morning America in a clip from her upcoming TV chat – set to air on Friday (US time) – Melania admitted the cyber bullying she has endured over recent years is what eventually pushed her to set up her Be Best initiatives, which tackle online bullying.

As the presenters on the show pointed out that her husband Donald Trump has been accused by many of online bullying in the past, the cameras then cut across to Melania’s chat once again as she admitted she has been affected by “what people are saying about me” on social media.

“I could say I’m the most bullied person in the world,” she told GMA, prompting the interviewer to ask her: “You’re really the most bullied person in the world?”

She then replied: “One of them, if you really see what people saying about me.” In fact, she said it’s that that has pushed her to target social media in particular in her Be Best campaign.

“We need to educate the children of social emotional behaviour so when they grow up… they know how to deal with those issues,” Melania added.

The interview, which was recorded during the First Lady’s first major solo trip abroad to Africa recently, then moved on to the White House staff – with the interviewer asking her if she has previously told her husband when there’s someone she doesn’t trust working for him.

“I give him my honest advice and honest opinions, and then he does what he wants to do. Some people, they don’t work there anymore,” she insisted.

Asked if there are still people working there that she doesn’t trust, Melania answered: “Yes”.

It comes after numerous staff departures in recent months as well as the publication of a newspaper op-ed column by an anonymous senior official that was highly critical of the president.

Speaking in an interview on Thursday with Fox News, Trump himself was asked why people that both he and his wife don’t trust are still in his administration.

“I didn’t know people in Washington, and now I know everybody,” he reportedly said. “I know some that I wish I didn’t know.”

He added that he has “great people right now working.”

“Are there some that I’m not in love with? Yes,” Trump went on. “And we’ll weed them out slowly but surely.”
