George Clooney’s dad reveals details about son’s relationship

Remember that giddy feeling you got when you first met the love of your life?

While most of us would have made a beeline for that person and spent the night flirting and absorbed in conversation, poor old George Clooney had to play it cool as his mum and dad were in the room with him!

The actor’s father Nick Clooney has spoken to People magazine about the night George and Amal first met, saying it was clear that sparks were flying from the moment they were introduced.

The couple met at a dinner party with mutual friends in 2013 and Nick said it was he and his wife Nina who answered the door when Amal arrived.

“She introduced herself to us and we talked,” he said.

“She was obviously very charming, gorgeous and so clearly accomplished, but by the time we had supper that night, it was clear there was a kindness to her and an inclusiveness.”

He went on to say he was all-too aware of his son’s romantic reputation, but by the end of the night he knew something was different this time.

He recalled saying to his wife: “Look ouuuut, this could be trouble for this young man!”.

“I really think by the time that first (meeting) was over, his and her fates were sealed, both of them. She was so remarkable and he was so remarkable around her.”

George and Amal married a year later and last week they welcomed twins, Alexander and Ella.

The couple now live in the countryside just outside London.
