‘Shocked’ mum catches Australia Post driver weeing off her balcony

We’ve all experienced the panic of trying to find a toilet when nature suddenly calls, but one mother was left stunned when she opened the door to sign for a parcel to find her postie taking a leak off the side of her verandah.

Catherine Skinner, from the NSW Central Coast, was slow to answer the door after hearing the Australia Post worker knocking, because the noise startled her dog whose barking then woke up her two-year-old daughter.

However, when she did make it to the front porch she couldn’t believe her eyes as the postie was relieving himself over the edge of her balcony.

Then to make matters worse the brazen delivery driver turned to her with his fly still unzipped and tried to hand over the parcel and a pen without washing his hands.

Catherine’s husband, Ben, revealed the shocking story on Facebook as he posted the details in the form of a complaint on the Australia Post page. As reported by Seven News, he said: “When she opened the door, the delivery driver was urinating off our verandah and into the bushes.

“Lets just say they were both shocked and embarrassed. Then he tried to get her to sign for it with wee on his hands and his fly half down!! “I’m just glad the box was the only parcel he dropped off.”

Australia Post were quick to respond to the comment, posting a gif of a woman with her jaw dropping in shock. They also apologised for what they called an “unbelievable” act.

A spokesperson replied: “That’s actually unbelievable. I’m so sorry and embarrassed that the driver would choose to do something like that. We’ll need to chase this up with delivery management right away.”

Recently Australia Post made headlines after a parcel sent from Queensland to Teesdale, Victoria, wound its way to Western Australia for sorting, before making its way back to Victoria.

Pauline Hicks bought two toy dinosaurs for her young grandson on buying and selling website Gumtree and had them posted to her home in Victoria from Queensland, however the patient grandmother was left waiting weeks to receive her goods as the parcel made an unexplained detour to a sorting centre in Western Australia.

The parcel was shipped from Queensland to Pauline’s home in Teesdale and took just two days to make it to Sunshine West, Victoria. However, after being registered at Sunshine West, the parcel was then sent more than 3,000km across the country to Welshpool, in Western Australia.

To make matters worse, Pauline could not get any help from Australia Post’s online ‘chatbot’ customer service system.
