Songstress Olivia Newton-John stood out even in a room packed full of Aussie stars, as she celebrated Australia Day at a glittering event in Los Angeles.

While her Grease co-star John Travolta looked considerably different to when the pair starred in the hit movie, with his formerly jet-black hair now greying, Olivia looked as youthful as ever. The singer was glowing with just light make-up and her hair in a soft, casual style. But she ramped up the glamour with a clinging, floor-length black gown, over what appeared to sensible closed-toe shoes.

The 69-year-old cuddled up happily with 63-year-old Travolta for pictures, showing that they still make a very attractive ‘couple’, at the G’day USA party, which is held by the Australian government every year in LA.

There were plenty of other Aussie stars at the party, including Margot Robbie, Rebel Wilson, Rachel Griffiths, Isla Fisher, Paul Hogan, Rose Byrne and Delta Goodrem. The young singer, who frequently cites Olivia as one of her role models, and band Human Nature got on stage with Newton-John to perform a medley of Olivia’s sons including ‘You’re the One that I Want’.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop was also glammed up for the event, which is designed to promote Australian products and the country as a destination to a US audience. The pollie looked slim and fit in a figure-skimming black dress with classy lace covering her decolletage and upper arms.

Australia’s new ambassador to the US, former treasurer Joe Hockey, meanwhile, tweeted a photograph of himself at the event with veteran actress Jacki Weaver.

The crowd feasted on a menu created by Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone, which of course included lamb chops, cooked pink.
