Melanie Griffith celebrates big birthday: ‘I’m 61 and sassy’

Just days after she posed in a glamorous photoshoot to mark her 61st birthday, Hollywood actress Melanie Griffith has spoken about how thrilled she is to be over the age of 60.

The Milk Money star celebrated her birthday on August 9 and was the star of her very own InStyle Magazine spread. Editor-in-chief of the magazine Laura Brown personally asked Griffith to feature in the September issue. As a special birthday treat, the magazine and shoot was released on the star’s birthday.

“So my cool friend @laurabrown99 asked me to be in September issue of @instylemagazine and she also has the sweetness to have it come out today on my birthday,” Griffith gushed in an Instagram post.

Sharing a picture from the magazine, the Working Girl actress could be seen showing off her youthful appearance. The star wore her luscious blonde locks in curls and stunned in a black top that showed off her cleavage. She also wore a gorgeous red skirt that showed off her long legs and completed the look with a stunning pair of black heels.

The star also shared a beautiful bunch of flowers she was sent by friend Kris Jenner and took the chance to update fans of how life has been treating her since she turned 61.

“After a 5 mile hike I’m gonna lay in the sun after smelling my birthday flowers from my bff [best friend forever] @krisjenner,” she said. “I am 61 and sassy.”

Fans were quick to wish the star a happy birthday on her special day.

One fan wrote: “Wishing you a wonderful birthday!!!! I miss seeing new work from you. You are amazing in some of my fave films…Working Girl, Something Wild, Crazy in Alabama, Nobody’s Fool, just to name a few. Enjoy your day!”

Another comment read: “61 young! Go girl.”

A third added: “You are as beautiful as the flowers.”

In the shot, Griffith could be seen showing off her toned body in her workout attire. The star has been no stranger to flaunting her body on the social media site. Last month, the Born Yesterday star showed off her fabulous figure in a pair of very revealing denim shorts. That look was complete with a loose-fit blue blouse, minimal make-up and her blonde hair tied back in a loose bun.

And despite shying away from Hollywood parties, the star always ups the fashion ante when she is out and about in Los Angeles. In July, she showed off her flamboyant style in a tight-fitting patterned dress.

That outfit showed off the star’s slim figure, matched with a bright red ‘70s-style shoes, red-tinted sunglasses and bright red lipstick.
