Like father like son: Kids of Beatles unite for rare photographs

Their fathers are some of the biggest icons in music history and Sean Lennon and James McCartney have caused Beatlemania again by posing for a photograph together.

Fans around the world are in awe of how much James, 40, looks like father Paul McCartney and how Sean, 40 resembles the late John Lennon.

Sean is the only son between John and Yoko Ono, but has a brother from his father’s previous relationship with Cynthia Lennon. Meanwhile, James is one of four children to Paul and the late Linda.

In the photograph shared on Instagram, the pair appear to be strumming a guitar as they pose for the camera.

Other photos shared by Sean show he is a spitting image of his late father. It also looks like John passed down his musical genes, with Sean regularly posting images of himself playing with a range of different musical instruments.

Just last week, Sean also reunited with Dhani, who is the son of Beatles guitarist George Harrison.

As for James, he has also dabbled in music, sharing some of his talent on YouTube over the years.

The photos of the Beatles kids comes just days after it was revealed unseen footage of Paul McCartney’s carpool karaoke would air later this month in a hour-long special.

The 76-year-old recently returned to his home city of Liverpool in the United Kingdom and gave TV host James Corden a personal tour of the iconic band’s old stomping ground. The clip, which originally aired on The Late Late Show in the United States, went viral when it was shared online, leading US network CBS to order another special featuring unseen footage of the star’s trip home.

It’s expected to debut online later this month, containing even more footage than the original 25-minute clip. The first video saw the singer belt out some of the biggest Beatles tracks including ‘Penny Lane’, ‘Blackbird’ and ‘Drive My Car’. Perhaps the highlight was when he treated Corden (and millions of viewers at home) to an emotional version of the 1970 classic ‘Let It Be’.
