Will disputes between siblings can get ugly pretty quick, and two American expat brothers living together on the New South Wales north coast are caught in a row so bitter one sibling is calling for other to be sent back to the United States – where he is originally from.

Brothers Larry and Carl Halquist live together in the home their late mother left them in Sapphire Beach, near Coffs Harbour in New South Wales. However, Carl, who was made executor of their mother’s estate, wants to sell, while Larry is vowing to stay put. As a result, he’s now calling for Carl to be deported back to the States.

Speaking to A Current Affair’s Steve Marshall on Tuesday night, Larry said: “I’m sorry, he’s my brother but, send him home! He’s not going to be ridiculed or hassled by anybody. There’s no wars going on there, I mean Donald Trump’s made the country great again! Send him back.

“As somebody who loves this country so much, I’d have him thrown out, I would.”

In a legal letter obtained by A Current Affair, Larry has been given until Thursday to move out. “Any permission you may have had to occupy the property is hereby revoked,” the letter reads.

“If you fail to give up possession you will be trespasser and the owner will be entitled to take proceedings for possession of the Property in the NSW Supreme Court without further notice to you.”

Documents also appear to show that the mother left the house to both brothers, with the pair fighting over the $1.5 million left to the both of them.

Responding to the eviction, Larry said: “Kicked out of my home by my own brother. Fair dinkum mate!”

According to the report, Larry claimed in recent years his brother has repeatedly threatened, in graphic detail, to kill or injure him. “He wants to kill me. He’ll sit there, and he’ll describe it. How he’s going to cut the gun down, I don’t know if he’s got a gun,” he said.

Carl appeared on A Current Affair and insisted he’s never been violent towards his brother.

Police took out an Apprehended Violence Order against Carl on Larry’s behalf, which expired last month, 9 News reports.

However, asked by A Current Affair if there is an issue between him and Larry, Carl says: “Sure is…he’s been sponging for the past 35 years.”
