Welsh pop singer Bonnie Tyler is recuperating after undergoing emergency surgery in Faro, southern Portugal, where she has a home, according to a statement on her official website.
The intestinal surgery for the 74-year-old singer, famed for 1980s power ballads such as Total Eclipse of the Heart and Holding Out for a Hero, had gone well, the statement said.
The Grammy-nominated star is due to tour Europe later this year to mark 50 years since the release of her 1976 breakthrough hit Lost In France, which entered the charts across Europe.
Tyler, born Gaynor Hopkins in Wales, was due to perform at a music festival in Malta on May 22 and then in Germany on May 30.
She represented the United Kingdom at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest.
She was made an MBE in 2023 for services to music.
