Cruisers are a generous bunch and this tip is a testament to that. While there are many inclusions on a cruise holiday – including shows, meals and entertainment facilities – there are a few things that are extra.
Some of these items include onshore activities and drinks. And while it is worth pre-purchasing these items before you board the ship, it is possible to buy them while on the vessel or get lucky and receive some for free.

According to frequent cruisers, it’s not all that uncommon for cruisers to leave behind some of their unused vouchers and coupons for the next cruiser who takes their room. You just need to know where to look.
One regular cruiser took to an online forum to share her experiences with giving and receiving the vouchers.
“We pre-order [wine cards] with 10 house pourings… and we’re pre-purchasing a punch card with 10 cocktails as well,” one cruiser said.
“In the past, whatever we didn’t use on the punch card, (and old soda cards) we’d leave in the front of the Bible for the next guests – as we won’t usually be back in time to use the cards again.”
Other cruisers, though, have left their little gifts in a different spot.
“We always leave left over coupons, euro coins, etc in the safe with the door cracked,” she said.
“If the door is left cracked, I don’t think the steward checks it. I hope someone got some use, even if it’s the steward.”
So, the next time you’re on a cruise, be sure to take a peek at the Bible in the nightstand or your safe to see if another cruiser has left you a secret gift.
