First it was World Naked Gardening Day last Saturday, May 5, when devotees are apparently encouraged to tend to their begonias and prune their shrubberies while in the buff.

Then it was the Paris museum welcoming naked visitors for a special visit to tour a contemporary art exhibition called Discord, Fille de la Nuit.

According to The Connexion, 161 people were allowed in to the closed-doors event at the Palais de Tokyo (understandably, before regular opening hours), from a waiting list of 30,000. It was the first nudist visit to a Paris art gallery. There are some 2.6 million naturist practitioners in France and this was just one of a number of initiatives in the capital recently, including a nudist-friendly space trialled in the Bois de Vincennes, a park in the east of Paris, and the opening of O’naturel nudist restaurant.

And now we hear of a new Airbnb-style booking site, but for naturists.

Co-founded by Petri and Minna Karjalainen, the couple struck on the idea after trying to promote a clothing-optional homestay through Airbnb. It didn’t work, but it made them realise there was a market out there, so why not have a go themselves?

“We started to think it would actually be cool if there was a booking site, just like Airbnb, but dedicated to this lifestyle,” Petri Karjalainen, who has been a practicing naturist for around 20 years, told CNN Travel.

“On our website all of the properties are targeted for naturist lifestyle practicing people,” she explains.

The website has only been up and running for about two months, but already features properties in locations such as France (mais naturellement), the UK, Spain, USA, Mexico and, yes, Australia.
