There’s nothing quite like taking to the sea and setting off on holiday across the ocean.
The sea-salt breeze in your hair, the warm sun on your skin, the endless supply of entertainment and cocktails – it’s a pretty good life for those who love to cruise.
But if you’re looking for something a little bit special for your next trip, get a load of the Celebrity Edge, the newest luxury ship to set sail across the sea.
Measuring over 1,000 feet (300 metres) long with 14 sprawling decks, this $1.38 billion ship could well be the ultimate way to travel in style.
It boasts outward-facing cabins, an outdoor rooftop garden and a multitude of spas, restaurants and shopping precincts.
Created in collaboration with world-renowned interior designer Kelly Hoppen and architect of Dubai’s Burj Al Arab Hotel Tom Wright, the 2918-passenger vessel has been dubbed the “most luxurious ship ever built” and hopes to transform the traditional cruising experience.
The ship sails everywhere, from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean, so you can pick and choose where you want to go and what you want to see along the way.
And these are all the cool things you can do on board!

The real wow factor has to be the magic carpet — a long open-air venue cantilevered off the side of the ship that moves between decks according to mood and function.
When positioned at the summit, the magic carpet becomes a specialty restaurant called Dinner on the Edge and makes the perfect place to dine for a special occasion.
Guests can also enjoy a spa and fitness centre, which includes a float room, sauna and steam room, heated tile lounges, and more than 124 treatments such as the Ocean Spa Wave Massage, Hot Mineral Body Boost and Zero Gravity Wellness Massage to ensure you’re superbly relaxed feeling zen.

The rooftop garden is the perfect place to unwind and relax.
Inspired by childhood playgrounds, the garden escape was brought to life with the help of famed architect Tom Wright and is a great spot to indulge in a cocktail or two and chat to other cruisers on board.
There’s live music, a private cabana and of course that stunning ocean view available from almost every angle.
If you’re feeling peckish you can also satisfy your tastebuds with gourmet burgers, brisket and pizza at the Rooftop Garden Grill.
Created in collaboration with award-winning architect and designer Scott Butler, the theatre offers an incredible chance to get up close and personal with performers. The stage extends into the audience with a tiered seating system ensuring everyone gets a clear view of the action.

Spanning three decks, Eden is a plant-filled lounge, dining and entertainment venue at the back of ship.
Offering wide-open views of the ocean, it’s full of seating nooks facing outward to the sea. The Eden changes its vibe throughout the day with the cruise operator saying it shifts between chilled out mornings, playful afternoons and sinful evenings where guests can kick up their heels and have fun till the sun comes up.
If all that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, there are also dozens of restaurants and bars on board, many of which feature menus curated by Michelin-starred chef Cornelius Gallagher.
This ship is the first of four new vessels being delivered between now and 2022 by Celebrity Cruises.
