Woman, 67, charged with killing her 92-year-old mother in nursing home

A woman has been charged with murder following the death of her 92-year-old mother at a nursing home in New South Wales.

Police were called to Warrigal Community Village aged care facility in Bundanoon, Southern Highlands, to reports that an elderly female resident had died. Officers arrived at the residential village, close to Wollongong, at around 9.35pm on Sunday.

The deceased’s 67-year-old daughter was arrested on Wednesday, following inquiries by officers, before being charged with murder on Thursday and refused bail.

A spokesperson for New South Wales Police confirmed that the woman, who Starts at 60 cannot identify for legal reasons, was scheduled to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Thursday. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
