In a touching display of remembrance, Australian swimming legend Lisa Curry has taken to social media to pay tribute to her late daughter, Jaimi, on what would have been her 37th birthday.

The moving post touched the hearts of many, as friends, family, and fans rallied around Curry to offer support and share in the bittersweet celebration of Jaimi’s life.

Jaimi was only 33 years old when she tragically passed away in 2020 after reportedly suffering from a long health battle.

In a post on Instagram, Curry shared a series of beautiful photos to honour her daughter’s memory alongside a moving birthday message.

“Happy birthday to our beautiful Jaimi,” she began.

“The day you were born changed our lives forever. Our little poppet dressed in pink of course with big blue eyes. You may be gone from our sight, but never from our thoughts and heart.

“Not a day goes by…. We all miss you ….

“Happy Birthday my love. Mumma xxx.”

The tribute quickly garnered an outpouring of support and condolences from followers, who expressed their sympathy while wishing Jaimi a “happy heavenly birthday”.

“Happy Heavenly Birthday beautiful Jaimi. Love and strength to you Lisa and the family thinking of you all. She is always with you in spirit by your side no matter what,” one wrote.

“Happy Birthday Beautiful Guardian Angel Jaimi. You were put on this planet to shine the bright spark you always did. You were-and still are SO adored -and by people that never even met you. Thinking of you Lisa.”

“Thinking of you Lisa..a beautiful tribute to Jaime,” commented another.

“Missed and loved. Thinking of you, her and all who loved her.”

Since Jaimi’s tragic passing Curry has made an effort to keep her daughter’s memory alive by scattering her ashes in “meaningful” locations. Curry documented her most recent endeavour as she scattered Jaimi’s ashes in the ocean, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Hawaiian landscape.

“Jaimi loved Hawaii, and Hawaii loved her back, so I know she would have loved to be set free in the Hawaiin waters,” she wrote alongside the video.

Adding a personal touch to the tribute, Curry revealed, “And I added a little bit of ink to celebrate her and her life.”

The touching ceremony in Hawaii is not the first time Curry has embarked on such a meaningful journey. Previously, she shared her “challenging” experience of scaling Mount Kosciuszko in Australia, where she carried Jaimi’s ashes to the summit.
