Suzi Quatro is coming back at full throttle

She’s 76, has been rocking for more than six decades and apparently has no intention of slowing down. Suzi Quatro is heading back to Australia for a huge run of shows.

Suzi Quatro is coming back to Australia and anyone expecting the queen of rock ’n’ roll to quietly stroll through a greatest-hits set might want to think again.

At 76, Quatro is still recording, still touring and doing what she has done since she was a teenager: strapping on the bass and turning it up.

The Detroit-born rock pioneer will return in November and December for shows in Sydney, Hobart, the Gold Coast, Melbourne and Fremantle, with Baby Animals joining her as special guests.

She will also headline four Red Hot Summer Tour shows in Brisbane, Lake Macquarie, Torquay and the Barossa Valley.

Those outdoor concerts bring together a formidable collection of Australian rock names, including Jon Stevens, Baby Animals, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets, Dragon and Choirboys, with line-ups varying between shows.

The wild one keeps going

Quatro has enjoyed a remarkable relationship with Australian audiences since Can the Can went to No.1 here in 1973.

Then came 48 Crash, Devil Gate Drive, The Wild One and Stumblin’ In, songs that became part of the soundtrack for a generation.

But Quatro’s importance went beyond the charts. Long before a woman fronting a hard-rocking band with a bass slung around her shoulders seemed unremarkable, she was already doing it.

More than 50 years later, she’s still there.

Quatro has sold more than 55 million records and built a career stretching well beyond music, including acting, radio, theatre and books. Plenty will also remember her as Leather Tuscadero in Happy Days.

And 2026 has hardly been a victory lap. Her latest album, Freedom, arrived this year, another reminder that Quatro remains a working rock musician rather than a museum piece.

Suzi heads Down Under

The Australian run begins at Rooty Hill on November 14, followed by the Sydney Opera House on November 15, Hobart on November 18 and the Gold Coast on November 20.

After her Red Hot Summer appearances, she plays Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on December 2 before finishing at Fremantle Prison on December 6.

General public tickets go on sale Wednesday, August 12 at 10am local time through Face To Face Touring.
